How We Got Here...
Ireland into Pennsylvania about 1630, WATT became WATTS by 1750, then into Ohio 1797
WATT(s) with the bracketed "s" meant SON of WATT...then so many were born here, the S was just kept there from then on.
Down the Ohio River, landing in Wheelersburg, east of Portsmouth Ohio in 1797, then into Adams, Jackson, Pike(1828) and other southern Ohio counties. In 1850, some of us headed for gold, and populated the state of Iowa along the way to California. Some stayed there too, but our core is here in Ohio! Born in Ohio 1880, my Grandfather Leslie Watts was a Methodist minister throughout many southern Ohio counties from about 1910, building his very own first house in Rio Grande, Ohio about 1928, having a 10-acre orchard and gardens there.

My family farmed and survived the day, slowly moving north through the 1900's, and my branch settled in Columbus about 1947. In 2003, I settled MY family here in Knox county, just west of Centerburg, Ohio. I have lots of distant kin in Iowa and California, and other distant cousins came into NE Ohio in the 1800's and are around the area even today. Rural life is in my soul, and I found happiness getting back to the country life. David.

When we had our house built, I had yet to know that it was so similar to his. He built his in 1930 with his own hands. I only had to design the mods in ours, and we spent a month painting the inside!
